Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 2026

DayVoice is built around the idea that your voice and your reminders are yours. This policy explains what that means in practice — what leaves your device, who processes it, what we don't collect, and how to get rid of anything we have. We don't require an account, and nothing here is linked to your identity or used for advertising.

1. The short version

  • Your reminders are stored on your device.
  • To turn your spoken reminders into text, your voice recordings are sent to our transcription provider.
  • To create the AI spoken message, your reminder text is sent to our AI providers.
  • None of this requires an account, and none of it is linked to your identity or used for tracking or advertising.
  • We don't sell your data. We don't run ads. Payments are handled by Apple.

2. What we collect (and why it leaves your device)

DayVoice has no servers that store your content long-term. Instead, certain data is sent through our processing provider (Cloudflare) to the AI services that power the app, used only to fulfill your request in real time. Specifically:

Voice recordings

When you record a voice reminder, the audio recording is sent to our speech-to-text provider (ElevenLabs) to transcribe it into text. The recording is used only to produce that transcription and is not linked to your identity.

Reminder text

To generate a spoken reminder, the text of your reminder is sent to our AI providers: Anthropic (to craft the spoken message) and ElevenLabs (to generate the AI voice audio). No account information or identity is attached to these requests.

Notification token

To deliver reminders at the scheduled time — including Live Activities on the Lock Screen — your device's Apple push notification token is stored briefly by our delivery service (Cloudflare) and is automatically removed shortly after the reminder fires. It is used only to send your own notifications.

Subscription data

Subscriptions are processed by Apple. We receive only a receipt indicating that you're an active subscriber. We don't receive your payment method, billing address, or full purchase history.

Diagnostic data

If you opt into Apple's app analytics, Apple shares aggregated crash reports and basic usage information with us. This is not tied to your identity.

3. What we do not collect

  • Your name, email, or any account — DayVoice doesn't require sign-in.
  • Your contacts.
  • Your location.
  • Your microphone audio outside of when you're actively recording a reminder.
  • Tracking or advertising identifiers — DayVoice contains no analytics or ad SDKs.

4. Microphone & recordings

DayVoice asks for microphone permission so you can record voice reminders. The microphone is only active when you tap to record. Generated and recorded audio is stored locally on your device; the recording is sent off-device only to transcribe it (see Section 2).

5. Third-party services

We use the following third parties, and only for the purposes listed. Each processes data under its own privacy policy:

  • Apple — to handle subscriptions, notifications, Live Activities, and optional analytics.
  • Anthropic — to generate the spoken message from your reminder text.
  • ElevenLabs — to transcribe your voice recordings into text and to generate the AI voice audio for your reminders.
  • Cloudflare — to route requests between DayVoice and the services above, and to briefly hold the notification token needed to deliver your reminders.

6. Data retention

Transcription and voice-generation requests are processed in real time and are not stored on our own servers. The notification token is held only until shortly after your reminder fires, then deleted. Our third-party providers may temporarily process this data under their own retention and security policies. Aggregated, anonymized Apple analytics may be retained for product improvement.

7. Children

DayVoice is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

8. Your rights

You can delete the app at any time, which removes all local data. To request deletion of any server-side data tied to you (rare — most of what we do is on-device), email hello@dayvoice.app.

9. Changes

When we update this policy, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top. Material changes will be highlighted in the app.
